Eucharist
Sign and Source of Christian Unity
Thomas Richstatter, O.F.M., S.T.D.
On the eve of the Eucharistic Congress in Rome in June, Father Richstatter examines the meaning of Eucharist in various Christian denominations, and summarizes the guidelines for reception of the sacrament in Catholic and other Christian services. At the same time we look forward to the day when all will be able to sit at the eucharistic table together. "At the same time the worldwide eucharistic celebration is a sign of unity it is also a source, or cause, of unity," Richstatter writes. "We are nourished by the same body and blood of Christ, strengthened in unity."
