Gaynell Cronin and Father Jack Rathschmidt invite catechists to consider the importance of doorways and to see themselves as "doorway people."

Doorway People focuses on the role of catechists in Welcoming, Companioning, Sending.

Catechists who are true companions in faith welcome their students into the gathering space and strive to help them come to know and love God. They listen, walk with their students and explain things in ways that students can understand. As students pass again through the doorway as they leave class, catechists send them into the world filled with the power of God's spirit.

Doorways to Holiness: Prayer and the Catechist (17 min.)
Prayer is essential for all Christians. Jesus tells us to "pray always" and to ask for anything in his name and God will grant it.

Doorways to Holiness focuses on Getting Started at Prayer, Listening With the Heart, Responding With Compassion, Walking With All Creation.

Father Jack Rathschmidt asks catechists and parish ministers to reflect on their prayer lives: how and when and why we pray. He discusses practical ways to engage in prayer alone and with others.
