St. Anthony MessengerJuly 2007 issue
This month marks the 50th anniversary of Venerable Solanus Casey's death.
The popularity of this humble friar, who had spent over 20 years of this
life as a monastery doorkeeper, has only grown larger in the ensuing years.
The Solanus Casey Center opened on December of 2002. The Capuchin friars who
run the center in Detroit see among their visitors a growing interest in
Father Solanus Casey's beatification cause. This pilgrimage site calls
visitors to inner conversion and to a greater love for the poor and
suffering, just as Father Solanus experienced himself.
In the July issue of
St. Anthony Messenger, Father Jack Wintz, O.F.M.,
offers readers an armchair tour of the Center and Creation Garden, a
biographical sketch of Father Solanus, and an update on the Beatification
Cause.
